The Headless CMS featuring Kentico Cloud and ASP.NET Core

Speaker: Mike Whalen, Director of Solution Delivery
Meeting Topic: The Headless CMS featuring Kentico Cloud and ASP.NET Core (Part 2 of 2)

Join us this month as we dive head-first into the world of headless CMS development! Last month, we talked about getting started with Kentico Cloud as a content editor. This month, Mike is walking us through Kentico Cloud implementations in asp.NET Core and what to keep in mind when working with clients in Kentico cloud.

We will have pizza and beer as usual — no need to register just come and hang out!

And as always, if you want input into the next .NET User Group topic or would like to speak at one, message the Bit-Wizards Facebook Page. We want to hear from you!

Pizza, Swift Fundamentals, and WWDC

Welcome to our first meetup! During this meeting we’ll be doing the following:

Meet, Greet, and Eat Pizza
— We’ll spend a little time getting to know each other and enjoy some pizza provided by Rural Sourcing, Inc.

Swift Fundamentals
— Bring your MacBook as we take some time to go through a little code and learn some of the basics of Swift.
— This will be great for beginners though I’m hoping that some of our experienced Swift developers can learn and contribute to the conversations.

WWDC Announcements and Info
— Let’s spend a little time talking about the announcements that were made at WWDC and how they’ll impact us.
— Ask questions about my experiences at WWDC 2018.

Please come in via the rear entrance behind the building. See the attached image for its location and where you can park.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Nola Hack Night

A social gathering of the technical and tech-curious. Work on a side project, complain about javascript parsers, ask questions about programming homework, get help learning.

The meetup is very popular with generally more than 20 people per week. Because it’s every week, rain or shine, most people don’t RSVP. Don’t worry, come on by.

WordPress 101

We will be talking about the basics of WordPress. If you’ve never used the platform or are just learning about it this will be a great meetup for you.

If you’re a WordPress power user we invite you to attend and help teach those not familiar with the platform the basics.

And don’t forget to bring a friend.

An Introduction to Blockchain: Its Basics and Applications

Welcome to ABC! Please join us on Wednesday, June 27th from 5:30-7:00pm in the Emmet O’Neal Community Room for the launch of our Speaker Series, an event that will provide an introduction into blockchain technology through the presentations from two talented individuals who are working in the blockchain and crypto field. In the meantime, connect with our community on Discord at https://discord.gg/TE9FJJN.

Our plan for the night is as follows:

First, we will hear from Parker Owen, who is the co-founder at The Crypto Reserve. Parker will speak about the basics and fundamentals of blockchain technology and its security. He will also present on a variety of topics within the space, including: blockchain security, risks, proper storage methods, cryptoeconomics, ICOs, and where the industry is heading.

Next, we will hear from John Heeter, who is the founder and CTO of Boid.com (https://www.boid.com/). John will offer a 20-25 minute presentation on the perspective on the ebb and flow of decentralized and centralized forces throughout nature and society. By studying blockchain technology in a wholistic context, we can visualize a future where this technology reaches mainstream adoption.

To wrap up, there will be a 15 minute Q&A from the audience, which will moderated by Cameron Traylor.

Please RVSP to attend. The event will begin with a few minutes of meet & greet and networking, and then we’ll hop straight into the programming. Limited refreshments and snacks will be provided. If you have any questions, please email Albert Copeland at albert@alabamablockchaincoalition.com, and I’ll be happy to answer any of your questions.

Thanks, and we all hope to see you later this month!

Best,

ABC
